Big Bob's Classic (2019)
The Crystal Farm Team attended the 2019 Big Bob's Classic (July 12th-14th). The clinic went from 5pm -9pm on Friday and finished up Saturday morning from 8-noon. This clinic always has a lot to offer with both riders and horses benefiting.
Here are Frani's notes on the clinic:
Instructing the clinic this year were Dean Brown and Jason Vanlandingham. Jason is insistent that our veteran reiners should be schooled now and then. Ty and Reese picked up a few pointers as CC and I did. Pam and Sterling rode in the clinic on Saturday and she looked like she was getting a handle on a few things.
Notes on the show:
Saturday:
* Ty took CC in the men’s and schooled her.
* Pam and Sterling went in the ladies and had a nice ride.
* Sue and Cinch also went in the ladies, after a year not being in the pen had some fantastic maneuvers.
* Next class was green 1 and 2. Mark and Nate placed 2nd in both divisions.
* Sue and Cinch were 3rd in both divisions.
* Pam and Sterling are only eligible for green 2. They were in 5th place. Great rides by all.
* Novice 1 and 2 were the last class of the day and I guess Ty’s schooling worked. We won both divisions.
After a nice warm sunny day we took care of our ponies and headed to Gata Rein Ranch. As usual Denise and Steve had open arms for everyone. The best hostess people I know. Great food. Great drinks. Great friends. Perfect atmosphere. What more could we ask for. Great way to end the day. Thank you !!!!!!!!
Sunday:
* Day 2: started with CC and I coming in 3rd in the non pro.
* Next up was rookie. Mark was 3 rd in rookie 1 and 2nd in rookie 2 Nate and mark had a very nice ride.
* Pam was 5th in rookie and was consistent all weekend. Scoring every ride and making everything flow nicely.
* Sue and Cinch placed 7th in Rookie sue had a little freeze up but Cinch did exactly was she asked. Most of the ride she was thinking @ her hat but I think she got one of her best stops ever.
Good riding everyone.
Thank you Ty for being there for us every step of the way.
